and piper or scorpion better than magnex noise wise.? what are peoples favourite exhaust systems for noise?
and do people prefer the noise from full system or just backbox?

Full system will always produce a better noise than a backbox alone.

How do you choose what's "better" noise wise? It's all peoples opinions at the end of the day. I like magnex with a supersprint centre, not overly loud, but sounds a beaut when you floor it. Piper is louder than magnex and quite a few people prefer it over magnex.

But all comes down to how much you want to be noticed etc.

wanna be noticed cos spend money on the car so want people to see it and noise makes people look, but dont want chavy 'lets put a 8 inch tail pipe on' effect. i want it like a deepish noise but when u floor it it gets like high with the revs, but i want it louder than the engine noise if that makes sense?
so piper over magnex? is there much in it?

Magnex is one of the quietest after-market exhausts for a saxo iirc. If you want loud loud, Ashley 4" is probably for you, especially if you have a de-cat, probs some vids of a few exhausts floating around on youtube. :y:

i dont want decat...too much hassle at MOT time...yer ive had a look on youtube, but it never says what else is done to them, like it says magnex exhaust, but u never know if its the whole system, if there is a decat, a manifold etc.
ive not heard of ashley :S is it a small ish brand??
i was looking at a peco 3" or 3.5" (cant remember which size)
is ashley really noisy?

just been on ashleys website and moderatley cheap, so i can get an exhaust system and induction kit :)
