after my visit to demon tweeks 2day i took a trip on the way back to pete morgan racing in gresford on the out skirts of wrexham... i asked him about mapping my vts.... the 1st thing he said was open the bonnet.... and straight away pointed at the magnetti marelli ecu and said its useless..... all that mapping this ecu will do is make it rev further.... he said he could adjust the timing and fuel abit with the use of a boost valve but other than that the only option was a full blown standalone ecu omex/mbe/dta etc... or a dastek... i also asked about bhp figures.... he mentioned that the most you can get out of a saxo vts with head, cams, manifold, filter, exhaust system and decat is 145bhp at the fly max if ur lucky! he said 150-165bhp as most people with this setup state on here is wishful thinking....

wats do u think guys?

i was thinking about taking my car to chip wizards in rochdale as i believe they remap the standard ecu?? im very doubtfull now after speaking to pete morgan :s

cheers

sounds like he doesnt know about the saxo.

wayne schofield will be able to map your standard ecu up to about 160 bhp.

above that you need throttle bodies anyway, so yeah standalone.

id say theres alot of people who have proven to run that power on many different rolling roads.

And is he a supplyer of standalones?? as that will exmplain why he is pushing them if he is :P

I agree with him about the power figures.

A mate has a 106 gti with filter, manifold, pugsport, cat cam 708s and a chipwizards remap, it made 156bhp at the fly at chipwizards rollers. He then put it on Corten-Millers rollers and got 155.9bhp at the fly. Not out by much on 2 diff systems

Depends on so many things. Within a couple of weeks, mine showed 153bhp, 125bhp and 165bhp on 3 different rollers.

u would have to think the 125 bhp is totally wrong
