i've had a titful of the instant gasket shit

u think this would be ok for sump and cam covers

i wudnt reccomend u make ur own gasket at all.

pointless. Get your arse to pug/citroen and get the proper gaskets.

The cam covers use some gasket paste as tbf you cant buy the seals iirc

if this is for vts covers follow this read it the other day mate
RTV sealant.

Clean covers using a craft knife so they are bare metal, degrease surface.
Wipe oil over the cam ladders so that the sealant doesn't stick to them.
Using a sealant gun apply a good bead of sealant to the cam covers.
Place the cam covers in position, do not push them down or you will squish the sealant and the metal corners will touch the ladders.
Once the sealant is set(at least 6 hours, if not 24) you can tighten the bolts and this should squash the nice bead of sealant onto the ladders and seal perfectly.
Doing it this way means you can take them off easily in future.

instant gasket is fine silicone does as well but the price of gaskets is that cheap its tight not to buy them
