recently the cam belt snapped on my car at just under 7k rpm :(
to make things worse all 16 valves are bent.

even worse, im not sure if i should replace the pistons when rebuilding the engine. they have slight markings where they have hit the valves, but there are certanly no cracks or major dmg to the tops of the pistons.

should i replace the pistons which where just standard or will they be ok?

also if i should replace them ill most likly stick hi comps in so any recomendations are welcome

I would certainly replace them just to be 100% sure

done loads of cambelt failures at work tbh most of them touch the pistons and mark them but long as theres no high spots or cracks they will be fine. very rarely will people replace pistons in modern vehicles unless its for performance reasons or similar.
