That sony gives about 800W measured power in 1ohm. That's enough for most of people smileys/happy.gif
Those pioneers are shite! Go for something else, but not sony.

My mistake.
I mean 2ohm load, not 1ohm..
And what comes to that power handling thing. You can't really have too much of power. Ok, I'm not talking that you can shoot 10kW to a tweeter but really, soundquality provens a lot if you've power to run the speaker. No, I don't mean with soundquality that it can produce lots of soundpressure.. I'm talking things like dynamic and separation..
You can have powerfull amp but you don't have to screw the gain to its max.

exactly its always better to have an overly powerful amp and turn the gain down, than having a less powerful amp and turning the gain right up

so yes but turn the amp as low as poss??

It will run it but it is only 1 channel, to get the best sound out of the subs i would think you would need a 2 channel amp? smileys/smiley5.gif

nope wire the two subs together to show 2 ohm load to a single channel.
