How fast are they?
Anywhere between 150bhp and 200bhp.
0-60 times?
gain on top end?
mid range?
torque?

Also, what fueling is normally used for a supercharged engine...
I wouldnt want to go the extra injector route but four bigger ones and some way to manage them.
is standalone essential? any other options?

About 160bhp-170bhp on a VTR 8V..

About 210-220bhp on a VTS 16V

But it has taken 2 and a half years to die, with very little TLC for the engine and standard internals. And its not dead exactly - just has a couple more issues with it than i want to resolve.

RR at 141bhp@wheels with 0.6 bar. And about 140lb/ft as well.

4 larger injectors would mean either piggyback (such as Dastek) or preferably standalone (Omex, KMS, GEMS, DTA etc). The extra injector route is a bit low tech and behind the times - but not much wrong with it as long as its mapped correctly, however standalone does allow more control and more importantly control other ignition values and not just injection values.

0-60 i've never tried, don't want to put any more stress than needbe through the transmission. What do you mean by top end/ mid range? If you're meaning how fast it'll reach - it'll pull to the limiter in 5th if i had the courage/private straight road (140mph)

is 200bhp possible?
would i have any problems if i had forged internals etc?
at the end of the day, is it worth doing? will it be as fast as a camd or tb'd vts?

Martin is looking at 300bhp+ atw with his turbo 8v setup, quite a large turbo though lol

Comparing a s/c'd engine to a t/b engine is daft, totaly different in how they deliver power and how they drive.

Any reason why you want to stay with the 8v instead of going for the 16v?

Low comp pistons, H section forged rods, ballanced crank in rebuilt block, good flowing head, nice little boost cam (260ish?) s1 rallye inlet, big fat injectors, good size intercooler, well speced charger and standalone and you should see well over 200bhp. Same sort of money on a 16v will see 20-30bhp more depending on the spec you choose

Only reason i want to stick with the 8v is it saves looking for a tidy vts engine and at the end of the day, im not looking for stupid power so it should do me fine.
I know they are totally different but would the supercharged vtr engine be as fast as a camd vts?

Obviosuly depends on the power you settle with on the s/c vtr engine, but yes - should be. Look at the video i posted above.

200bhp is possible, and i would hope you'd manage to get near 200@wheels on a 8v if done properly (forged pistons, big intercooler, standalone).
