dunno if this is in the right section or not.
right, got a prob with my 2002 vtr. basicaly its going through petrol like theres no tommorow and if i sit at 30mph in 4th gear if feels like its running on kangeroo juice. ive decatted it and ive put both lamda sensors in the engine bay as the one that goes in the downpipe got the thread stripped when i took it out of the old manifold so i thought id put it in there for a little while. am i right in thinking that is what is making it run shitty? i.e running on choke all the time cos the ecu thinks the air is too clean/lean so pours more fuel in?
also, the new sensor i have has a blue plug and i need one with a green plug. are they different sensors or can i simply cut the wires and re connect them to the other plug? sorry for the essay but only getting 70 odd miles to a tenner of fuel is starting to get to me!:panic:

The pre-cat sensor should stay in place, and the post cat sensor should be up in the engine bay - does that help at all?

theyre both in the engine bay as where the pre cat thread got stripped, it fell out of the hole in the downpipe so i put it there temporarily. just wondered if i cut the wires and changed the plug, would it work ok?

You should not have to cut the wires, there should be a connector to replace the Lambda sensor with another sensor? Then just screw the new sensor back in?

What did you do with the hole?

ah just wondered if a blue lamda sensor connecter would fit in a green loom connecter or if i would have to cut the blue plug off the sensor and attach the green sensor plug to the blue sensor, cut and shut style.
i just put a big bolt in to block the hole. i think it is 18mm or somthing? ill take it out and put the sensor in when (if) i get the sensor porblem sorted.

Good luck mate :)
I don't know if they are the same sensor, so my advice has to be - replace the Lambda sensor with the correct part :(

Sorry I can't be more help!
