air filter/ taking away air pipe HELP!

HI, if i take the pipe that goes from the front of my car to my air box and the little box thats attached to the air filter box off will it cause any damage to my engine because ive still got my air filter there?

As long as you have a filter between the throttle body inlet and fresh air then it wont damage it although the pipe at the front is there for a reason and that is to get cold air into the throttle inlet - if you take that away it will be sucking up warm air from under your bonnet.
