is it right that the 4-2-1 gives power increase at different rpm to a 4-1 manifold? i read that the 4-1 gives better top end n the 4-2-1 gives more low end response or vice versa, cant remember which way round. cheers

yup as long as its designed and tuned to lengths and not some random made 4-1 or 4-2-1 then a 4-2-1 tends to give better low down torque response, where as a 4-1 gives better power high up, hence why the vts had a 4-2-1 to help low down torque as top end its fine, and other way round on vtr, 4-1 as its fine on low end torque smileys/smiley4.gif

so would you suggest i get a 4-2-1 to help me off the line quiker? id prefer my car quik to 60 rather then higher top end if you get me

depends what you want mate really, most people go for the 4-1 as the way the vts revs it helps it once it comes on cam. If your more interested in low down pull than top end pull then go 4-2-1

gmc only make em in 4-1 n they xplain why on thier site, i think il go for a wrapped 4-1, thinkin about an enclosed filter, maybe a green aswell, what you think? got a gen 2 on now but its only got a heatshield so hot air can still find its way in2 the filter

always get your manfold wrapped, not only does it keep heat away but it also help exhaust gases, and if your exhaust is correct lengths you tend to notice a difference.

yeah sounds well nice.did sort of notice the manifold, got sports cat 2 which is a bit less restrictive than i normal cat and had it all wrapped.was abit more power with the manifold but seemed that when i got the enclosed filter it brought everything together,if you no what i mean.exhaust seems abit louder too.got the cage for £250 off ebay mate.

yeah mate, i think the bmc is about 160 ish for a vts. i am happy with my gen 2 k+n but dont thimk its givin me as much power as a bmc or green etc.

defo gota get one mate, seems your after power by looking at what youve currently got,so an enclosed kit would benifit your other mods, then get ya manifold and then unichip and thatl be quick as fuck. unichips next on my list.
you got any pics of ya mota on here?
what polished covers you got?
