im wondering that myself, but i think i will do it myself as its to expensive to have it done by someone else, plus it might not get done right.
it all depends on what engine components you want to use in you rebuild i suppose :)

depends on where from and the spec.
for instance i know qep used to charge 800ish+ vat for the build without parts.
obv when you fit forgies etc... the cost of the build goes up

Is there a reason behind the rebuild?
£600 upwards if the normal price tbh mate

If you are rebuilding it because its blown up and you intend to use standard internals, you might as well source a new engine as it will be alot cheaper than buying all the replacement parts you mentioned above. However, if you are rebuilding to gain performance (balance, lighten, forged pistons and rods etc) then the sky is the limit really as you can probably imagine.

do it yourself
just make sure everything is stupidly clean befor you put it in and torque everything up properly and you should be fine to use it
imo its only work paying fo someone like gmc to do it if your after it being a tuned engine and then having it done properly may add a tiny benefit
ive seen several engines (ranging from an 850cc mini engine through vtechs to a chevy big block that was going in a landy) built in kitchens ect in my time its not that hard
just need some mechanical knowlege and the right tools

I agree, but in the case of a standard saxo engine, if you are rebuilding it with standard internals, you might as well save yourself alot of time and effort and just source a replacement engine :y:
Oh btw, i corrected your spelling before posting the quote! lol
