Have had a few probs with the mrs vtr, was getting a clunking intermittently from the front end, finding that it had a broken spring n/s so replaced front springs. Prob still there put a thread up and was suggested to replace the drop links which i done, recently my mrs said the clunking is back, it seems to come from the n/s when pulling away and turning right. Could this mean we have a problem with the drive shaft ?
cheers

could be a number of things
the usual driveshaft clunking is as you turn the car you will hear a series of clunks as the cv joint bounces in the housing on the shaft

Cheers Alex, the clunking seems to happen when first pulling away or on cornering, Not that i get to drive her though. Whats a complete drive shaft replacement like to do ?

swapping a shaft isnt that hard mate tbh
its a case of pop the centre cap out your alloy and undoing the hub nut (can do it by getting a helper to stand on the brake pedal as you undo it)
then unbolt and pop the balljoint apart on the end of the wishbone (ive found its easier if you just undo the front wishbone bush slightly to allow free movement in the wishbone)
and then pulling out the shaft (put a bucket under the gearbox as the oil will piss out)
reverse the process (not forgetting to do the wishbone back up)
and once ethe cars back on all 4 wheels top up the gearbox fluid

So when i buy new ones i just take the old ones out and put the new ones in, sounds not to bad. Just done the c.v boots on the daughters suzuki baleno so that practice should help a little.

its pretty easy though if you have even basic mechanical knoledge
hrdest part will be when the shaft is in and the hubnut is tight there are 2 buts on the nut you have to hammer down to sop the nut working loose (just bash em in with a chizel)
getting it to go is a pain lol
i allways slip off with the chizel
