vtr 1.6 mk1 i want to change

Bassicaly i have a vtr and like the other million want to make it different i was wondering if a vts 1.6 head would fit onto it and what that includes if its doable and if not where can i get a vts engine to fit in

usually there are cars being broken in the sale section of i know of a guy who breaks cars a lot and puts the engines on ebay

im pretty sure you need to do full coversion, engine, wiering loom and ecu!!!!

the only reason im doin it is because of the insurance they wont insure me on a vts hense i have a vtr ?

depends on your car tbh
on a mark 1 om pretty sure youll need to swap the whole wiring loom on the car as the c2 runs the 3 plug ecu iirc and yours will be a single plug therefor the main lom plugs wont match
that or get a mark 1 vts engine loom and swap them over that way

The conversion isn't just plug and play but shouldn't cost an arm and a leg to get it going.

If not just a standard saxo vts lump but you have to remember they are getting higher mileages now due to the age of the car :)

trust me its not worth the hassle
i didnt declair stuff on my 1.1 and it caused all sort of shit when i had a bump in it

Ye youre much better of declaring your mods dude! i never declared my alloy wheels for my quiksilver and when it got vandalized ( paint striper ) i made a claim, took it to there bodyshop and the guy took some pictures and sent em off to the insurer who then got back to me saying... were not going to do jackshit because of the alloys!!! what a complete cock up lol

tbh mate if you cant afford to insure it dont do it
i know it sounds like im being a cock here but f anything should happen (i really hope it doesnt) you will just get boned
especially if the car has the wrong engine in it
your best off waiting till you can afford to insure a vts and redeclairing the car on its logbook
is a lot easier especially as most companies wont cover cars with non standard engines (ie a vtr with a vts lump)

if you wanna away you go pretty sure from a good search across a few forums you can find a good vts engine
and as said with the right parts itll go in easy enough

This is bit of a piss take, i hate fuckers like you. It's uninsured twats like yourself who push up the premiums for the rest of us. If you can't afford to insure a VTS then you can't drive one, end of. There are reasons why insurers won't touch you. Look your 17 for starters, go drive a small engined car for a while build up your no claims etc. I highly doubt at your age your a competent and experienced driver anyway. rant over
