Rang police at 6:05pm to report RTA etc. rang inurance blah blah blah... Police FINALLY turned up at about 8ish and that was only because a Community Support office was riding by and stopped to check everything was ok. Then he radio'd though to get some sort of organisation.

Lost ALOT of respect for the police tonight.

Hitting the kerb pushed the wheel into the bottom of the arch where it joins the skirt. Breaking it.

Also need a new wheel. Massive chunk missing.

Think is ill prob need a new strut... but I have coil overs fitted

Depends Mr Juice sometimes it doesnt move..somtimes it can make it worse and push the strut top out....have a look in the light for any creases etc... by the sounds of it the strut and wheels has taken most of it

Exact same happened to me about a year ago.

Some old guy pulled out, i thought "fuck hitting a merc" and swerved up the pavement and hit a fence/concretewall.

The guy tried driving off, luckily my brother was behind me and chased after him, caught up and told him to go back. He did. He came back and cops were called, loads of witnesses etc and i managed to get paid out. Took a solicitor and ALOT of paper work.

i wouldnt be worried about gearbox damage, ide put money on that being ok. My main concern would be with the body of the car.. its bent the wishbone but has it bent anything else. Does the bonnet line up ok with the wings, wings with the doors. How about the steering rack, has the force done any damage?

First thing ide do is fit a wishbone and trackrod end. That driveshaft might be ok it might have just ripped the boot, they do come apart like that anyway so its not the end of the world so ide stick it back together just temp and see if everthing lines up ok. Once your at that stage work out if you need new struts etc. Fit a new boot onto the shaft or buy a new one and refill the box with oil etc.

Took my insurance a week before they got me a car, then got a call from the other person's insurance asking if I was injured and if anybody else in the car was injured :fcuk:.

I told them and my insurance that I was the only person in the car at the time and that I wasn't hurt.

Kept sending me forms to fill in and return to them had an Iccident claim email (Spam), then finally got the cheque from the other person's insurance company (after being told my car was a write off) for £1200, £200 more than I paid for the car.

The only damage "mod" wise is probably going to be to the coilovers. Wheels are standard everything else thats damaged is standard.

Other half had a similar accident, some guy pulled out in front of him he was doing about 50-60 so would of been a bad accident if he hit him but he managed to avoid him but ended up down a grass bank. He won him claim in the end but it was a fight as the guy didnt even stop and denied even being there. He was supposed to loose his licence but he gave it up due to medical grounds before this could happen. Hope you have a witness will help a great deal. Hope it can be repaired and sorry for the long read.

Yes you can get it fixed for way way under 4k, BUT when you go through insurance companies, its a whole new ball game.

I work in a bodyshop and see claims everyday.

I see jobs that come to 16k+, that get fixed.

You see where all our money is going on insurance when you see the amount of people that claim and how pricey shit is.

Its a joke, mate had a VX220, in traffic pulled into the back of someone when he wasnt looking (twat I know lol) at literally 5mph, back of avensis just had dust on, but cos the VX is all one front clamshell they said like £3k or something stupid, all in all got £7k+ in mind for a 5mph knock that coudl've been fixed for about £2k private.

But.. that £7k included, a new front seat, and new windscreen, new dash surround, none of which were even slightly damaged, not sure how you damage a plastic dash piece, or a fixed (pretty uncomfy) lightly leather bucket.

/Pointless story, well.. the point is, some of us have a valid reason to complain about insurance costs when we dont even get what is deserved.

They said the roof would need painting because there is a crease in the roof.

I honestly have no idea if they are just marking down the tiniest of things.
