Cheked under oil cap and fount what i thought was possibly a bit of mayo :wall:

So decided to take the rocker cover off to check if any other signs of head gasket failure but all seems ok "So Far"

Whilst removing rocker cover there was an item rattling about inbetween cover and metal sheet that lay inside it....Heres what i fount

I could not see anywhere, where they may belong. Does anyone have an idea what they are for or can i dispose of them

they're what separate the metal plate and your rocker cover....

The metal plate goes on, then those two spacers, then the rocker cover sits on top...

as said, they're what separate the rocker cover and the metal plate, they stop the metal plate from moving about (ie rocking) under the cover, so yes you could say they're important.

i found this when replacing my rocker cover gasket on the vtr before i put the s lump in.

also wondered what they were as they looked a bit out of place and not like a standard part so removed them and never had a problem. still have them sitting on a shlef in my garage in actual fact. i'd have put them back in if i knew at the time it wasn't just me that had them but too late now :)
