a vtr iirc has a top speed of sumin like 128 i think? how could you push more top end out but get there quickISH

would you just leave it with the vtr box and then just cam it etc?

increase its power to give it better acceleration yet keep top end.

changing the box will reduce top end.

yeah tahts what i said above mate

keep the vtr box left in the left, just cam it, 4-2-1 mani and zorst system and enclosed induction

would this give it a little more top end?

The only way to more top end is more power. The VTR is over geared so a change of box won't help, though a VTS box will get you there quicker.

Why you would want to get more top end, i have no idea as 128mph is enough now days for a good rodgering, but if you really want more pace charging it is the way forward. Cams are fine, but really my VTS sounded like it wanted to go bang at 140mph, so I'd go with FI

its just a debate i was having with my bro in law lol

was telling him that a vtr is a long box and he said how comes he could only get it to like 120 on the clocks and no further

said to him tune it to make it pull harder so im guessing a high lift cam, 4-2-1, zorst sys and induction would make it pull a bit better to a little more top end but wouldnt be a lot i wouldnt of thought

I think the 16v 106 GTI / VTS has a top end of 127mph, the VTR will be less than this.

The reason he couldn't get over 120 mph is because the car doesn't have any more power to go past that speed. It's got nothing to do with the gearbox in this particular example. A wilder cam may not help your top end... It depends where abouts your power band spreads from / to when in 5th gear. For example, if you currently top out at 120mph in 5th which puts you at, let's say, 3500rpm, and the new, wilder cam gives you most power between 4500 - 6000rpm, you sir, will have an issue.

As drag increases at speed, you need alot more power to push the car through the air it is disturbing.

120 on the clocks is gonna be more like 110 in realy life citroen speedo's are notourisly out try it with a sat-nav that will give you more of an accurate reading, as for increasing power the mods you listed above would be good

you could also be hitting a flat spot in the power that cant be powered by in 5th, so you might only need abit more power to clear that flat spot

Yup. The main issue is the Saxo is so short above about 125mph the air going over the car slams into the air coming from under it creating a parachute behind the car

why would you want to go that fast?it's all about acceleration tbh.it's not safe especially in a car like a saxo.

Tell me please the maximum speed of your saxo in kph

About 205kph due to gearing. Which is about 127mph oddly enough...

Going that fast in a Saxo ... Suicide ...

How is 120mph in a Saxo suicide?
it's alright aslong as you don't crash.
