Erm, i wouldnt think that would work, will probably throw your timing out, your best going to motorfactors and sorting 1 out that way

"This tensioner will fit the following 8v 106 engines

> PEUGEOT 106 S1 XSi 1.4 & 1.6

> PEUGEOT 106 S1 RALLYE 1.3

> PEUGEOT 106 S1 RALLYE 1.6"

I would say no, as that is for the 8 valve engines, not the 16 valver!

You should have ordered http://cgi.ebay.co.uk/New-Timing-Belt-Tensioner-Kit-PEUGEOT-106-GTi-SAXO-VTS_W0QQitemZ260313918252QQihZ016QQcategoryZ10406Q QssPageNameZWD1VQQrdZ1QQcmdZViewItemQQ_trksidZp163 8Q2em118Q2el1247

the tensioners are similar on all the tu engines

tbh i cant see why it wont mate

"Similiar" wouldnt be good enough for me.

Might work..might not so why not just order the correct part especially if you dont know :)

Again what your saying is your not 100% percent sure.

So why bother getting the one which "might" fit to save a few quid when you can get the one which "will" fit. Timing belts are crucial so why fuck about lol

This is a 8v belt, you have a 16v.

My logic says to me that the 16v one is longer, so this one wont fit.

Go on any motor factor website and they show 2 different items for the 8v and 16v engines.

I think you wasted your money.

16v has an extra pulley to go round so surely would be bigger?!
