my cars just failed the mot on emissions. at the min it has a raceland ss manifold, a supersprint mid pipe and a scorpion back box. normally it is decatted but i put the cat in for the mot. i have 1 lamda sensor in the manifold before the cat and the other is in the engine bay. if i cut a hole in the pipe after the current cat (under car jobbie), weld a nut on it and put the sensor in there, would it work? i.e bring the emissions down?

you should have 2 lambdas in, 1st to adjust fuelling and the 2nd should be after cat to check cat is working.

buy a 1.1 exhaust with cat for MOT time.

does a 1.1 cat have a hole for a sensor after the cat, on the tube bit before it joins the mid pipe?

you need to get friendly with your local mot'ers :p
or when u take it back, watch them do it and make sure they are getting the engine hot before they take the readings, make sure the fan is coming on.

dont think it would matter how friendly i got with them. the emissions were 12.5 (should be 0.2) so dont think they could easliy turn a blind eye. it was properly heated as well. just taken the cat off and im gonna cut a hole in the pipe after the cat bit, weld a nut on it to take the second sensor. also need to cut down the mid pipe a little inside where it connects to the cat. hopefully it will work then.
if it doesnt work, are there any other cats i could use that have a hole after it? i.e does a1.1 exhaust have 2 sensors, 1 pre cat and 1 post cat?

if you are friendly with them you can get them to put it on another car lol ;)
yeah that should work, do you need a the bit to weld on to the exhaust to put the lambda sensor in? i should be able to get you one for free if you need one.
