ive fitted one to mine seem to be okay bar one thing....

3krpm idle lol.

ive made sure all the joints are air tight and everything,

if i block/retstrict the the hose that comes from the ICV and go round the back of the engine i can get the idle to normal 1k.

however when i do this, and try to pull away the car just cuts out.

just wondering if anyone can help me.

When I fitted a new ICV to my car I had to disconnect the battery for half hour, then turn the ignition on and off 3 or 4 times, then start the car.

I forgot to do this when I fitted the ICV and it idled very high.

you need to drill a hole into the inlet for the idle control valve.

mine was revving at about 3.5k for about 30mins-1hr. just let it rev high and take it easy, then i turned my engine off and when i turned it back on the ecu had recognised the changes and adjusted air/fuel mixture. hope this helps mate

as said you need to fit the icv into the inlet by drilling a hole in it for the icv to sit in

most people drill the hole for the ICV at the far end of the inlet on Rallye reg.

look on there as its been done a few times and this is a common problem

i made a flange and bolted it where the original icv went then had hose from there to my xsi icv, you also have to block the small hole inside the throttle body on the filter side doing it this way.

you mean the pipe outlet hole on the throttle body? i blanked that, and for the icv i jus drilled and tapped an airline fitting into the left side of mani and put a piep into icv onto the fitting dont see what could have went wrong with that?

how long have you left it with the high idle? i just drove mine about and after about 20mins it sorted itself out...

well i fitted yest started up it was idleing at 2 k, cut it and put the throttle cable and induction kit on then started and drove for ten mins and it was up 2 3k then went out again for bout 20mins on way to restaurant, then started again was 3k lifted bonnet and my mani was glowing red within 2-3 mins after an out in the restaraunt then bout another 30-35 mins driving, then parked up for the nite, then drove home this afternoon bout 10 mins and still its idleing an 3k think it may be drawing air in somewhere as idle screw is all the way aout meaning butterfly is shut, did you need to blank a pipe outlet on the tb? and 1 at the back of the inlet mani? and the other 1 at back is ecu breather and the one at the bottom near the head port inlets is for brake resevoir? icv on left and i put the map underneath at back?
