i know most of u wont know this answer but if someone can help would be great i need to know whether a 2005 sxi engine would fit into a 2003 corsa c? and are both 2003 and 2005 sxi engines the same?

I'd probably think so, but im not sure if here is the best place to ask. Try a corsa ownership site.

ye it is the same. but the 1.2 sxi are a crap engine because they have a chane insted of a cam belt. and if they go rong they are exspensive to fix. just put the 2.0 turbo eco tec engine in ;)

corsas were built like clios, quantity not quality. Dosn't mean it wont last though :)

yep i know what ya mean mate but his head gasket went and things werent looking good so the mechanic said it would be best if ya changed the engine because it would give ya problems later!

will be just as cheap to put a 20XE in it. can pick them up for next to nothing.

they might be different as im sure 05 is when they introduced the twin port engines.

yes your right there mate all corsas made after 54 reg had the twinport engines instead of the single port but the twinport engines would also fit in the previous corsas but the ecu and wiring loom would also have to be changed!

The twinport engines were so overrated! They have like 2% power gain and like no economy increase. They invented it so they could stick a nice shiny badge on the back and say they invented their own injector system. That feels better lol.

isnt it better to have a chain than a belt? means it cant brake as easy as a belt?

The chains arent very good in these engines, the 1.0 after a few years sound like a tin can.

well the chain causes most the problems as that helps the water get to the oil in the first place which is common with the ecotecs!
