Hi there guys, I'm a 106 owner myself but I love the saxos just as much hence I helped my mate purchase one for his daily drive.

It was taken for MOT on monday but failed on emissions. We have changed the cat but does the lambda need doing too?

Readings are:

CO = fast idle 0.74% and then normal idle 0.73% (limit 0.3 and 0.5)
lambda got 1.013 on first, then 1.009 on second (which is within limits for this engine)
fast idle 71 and normal 72 PPM (200ppm limit)

106owners.co.uk forums say that the lambda is within limits so i'm hoping its just the cat (which is now changed and the car booked for retest saturday).
We're running redex through the system now too.
If any one has any advice on this I'd appreciated it greatly.

Cheers

Andy

We're just trying to clean up the emissions I hope redex does the trick

take out the air filter for the mot and spray carb cleaner in the inlet maniofold a few times to clean it, and make sure they get the car hot when they do emissions test.

So run it with unfiltered air? :S
The air filter is brand new as are the oil and plugs. Any more causes of the CO being high but every thing else low?

Sorry you mean get the carb cleaner in without the air filter in the box! Doh! Heads on backwards today!
I just hope its not the lambda causing the issues as its the only part we havent changed.
