Hey, i have no intention in doing this, but have always wondered if anyone has done this / or could it be done?

Xsara 2.0 vts engine fit into a saxo?

They produce 170 bhp as standard, wouldn't this be insane fitted into a much lighter saxo? Power to weight would be really good.

Discuss.

Yes.

You could also strap a jet turbine to the roof if you wanted.

if you got it in it would spoil the saxo handeling
it's a much heavier engine and for the work required a 170hp vts engine would be a lot better
no problems with the gearbox reducing steering lock
no need for custom shafts
no need for custom mounts

plus it'll still handle

its the same engine but has the better, stronger 5 speed instead of the piss poor 6 speed

im sure ive read on the 205/306 forums that you can marry a mi16 alloy block to a gti6 head. this would be very light and much lighter than the steel tu. the biggest factor im aware of is the driveshaft clearence with the chasis legs as you have to canter the engine over a vast amount.
