few questions i NEED ansers 2!!!!! PLEASE HELPPPPP

iv had my mk1 vtr a few month now, and all of a sudden its started not runnig right, its not breathing properly, iv got a k&n air filter on it, and as it gets to 4000rpm its as if the car is "lagging" any ideas???

also i was fiddling around in the engine the other day and and found a pipe that had been blanked off connected to my inlet manifold... i think the other end used to go to the air box (not sure)
now got a k&n
is this meant to be like this or is summet wrong?

1 more thing... will my car pass mot with no back seats (stripped out) ?????

Not too sure with the pipe, though my K&N has a pipe out the back of the cone into the inlet manifold, so Id assume it should be the same.

No seats is ok for MOT, lots of people have roll cages. (or no back seats in 2 seater coupes!)

i was told you have to declare you car as a 2 seater to the dvla in order to pass mot and remove seats and BELTS

I have the exact same problem with mine, mines a 1.1 though and just normal air filter it started lagging bad then i took it garage because i though it was exhaust and i needed new cat so got that and it stopped lagging for about a month and it has started doing it again dunno if the cat is gone again i doubt it though so need find the proper problem

i had this problem, in my case it was the air filter wasnt tight enough, and was sucking too much air in. try tightening it mate.

done that but it didnt help....

check ur exhaust is all tight mate. and make sure all the connections on the fuel pump are tight aswell as the release valve.

any pictures of the blanked off pipe?

ill take a pic 2moro... this is realy starting to annoy me now,
i got told it was a good idea to fully disconect the battery and leave it over night as this may reset the ecu...
so its sat out side now all dissconnected lol

u dont have to declare no seats or seatbelts to the dvla to pass the mot, as for the pipe i would say it was a breather, not sure what to recomment with a k&n if it hasnt got a hole for it, that may be ure problem with it lagging tho, put the standard air box on and see hoe it goes, if it cures it you know what ya problem is m8
