Best off getting a Haynes mate, got it all detailed in there about the order of doing things, correct tightening etc. :y:

Haynes manual, piss easy job.

Worthwhile replacing idler/tensioner, water pump and auxillary belt at same time dependant on mileage/age.

If you done plenty of them whats the problem? there all the same principle, just diffrent belt routings, may have to take diffrent things off but its all same. If you timed up a puma and 100's of other cars whats so diff about a vtr? if in major dbout get a haynes manual.

god poeple are oppinionated,

just making sure there are no nasty supprises as the puma as soon as you loosen bottom pulley the timing pully spins on the cam there are no lugs etc for it its held there just through the bolt being tight, and you can only do them with the ford timing kit which is a 100quid thats why!

all i asked was, is there a link!! not for people to questions why!!!!!!!!!!!!!

when i done mine i used a haynes manual, in there it says you have to use an electronic tensioning tool to get the tension on the belt correct

dont know if there is a guide, but its easy, 1 locking pin in the cam pulley and one in the flywheel (hole in the flywheel end of the block) thats pretty much it sorted, an hour should see you finished, one think to note, if your car has the silver top engine they have the 1 piece cam belt cover and it makes life easier if you remove the offside engine mount to access the 10mm bolts to remove the cover.
