Hi guys i am thinking about buying a vts engine and rebuilding it, but i want to know if when rebuilt it will pull better than before it was rebuilt??
The vts engine i have at the moment in my saxo is really slugglish at low down revs and has really bad flat spots around 2-3500rpm
so just wondering whether buying another engine and rebuilding that and then putting it in will make more of a difference???
any advice would be much appreciated
thanks justin

depends on if you rebuild with parts like an uprated head, pistons etc

A full rebuild isn't really required. Just have to find the reason why its sluggish!

depends on whats done during the rebuild but if everything is refreshed and everything cleane it sould make a notable difference, better running etc

if your gonna pay money for a new engine and rebuild it you may aswell strip your original down and rebuild that and get some new parts for it? would make more sense to me like?

ye i have thought of that buit having it off the road wont be no good as i need to get to work lol !.
Kam, i have tried every sensor i can think of to why it is slugglish at lower revs. the plugs are al very white, i have tried every sensor off my mates 106 gti and its still the same.. doesnt rev as free as his gti, the only thing i can think of now is ecu??? they can be faulty i have heard,

try a compression and a leak down test. and also get it rolling roaded to check your afr's are ok.

good idia if you cant be arsed to find out the problem with your engine, if you rebuild the engine cleaning all parts, reaplace all gaskets, uprate pistons, cams etc.. and will be good i think, you can allso paint it to make it look the part whilst its out of the engine bay. good luck to your sir.

Could be alsorts of things really. Id get the fuel system cleaned before a rebuild. Either have the injectors cleaned or buy some 2nd hand ones and put them in to see if it stops.
My astra wouldnt accell smooth low down in RPMS, changed the fuel filter and it sorted it.
