will a panel filter give me any exra noise out of my 1.1 or should i just get a peco back box

Panel filter will do nothing for noise mate... unless you modify the airbox with your own cold air feed etc.

a green panel filter will give more induction noise a a exhaust isnt realy a last resort if a panel wont ther both different things induction noise and exhaust noise, if you just after noise get a cheapy universal bolt on kone filter a panel will cost about 40 aposed to about 15 quid for universal lol

well i have a 2003 dont want to fuck it up by putin cheap parts on it but because its only a 1.1 no point in trying to get bhp gains

Trust me, it makes no difference to noise what so ever. The only advantage you have is the filter being long life and washable.

my bros mate had a green panel filter on his mk2 golf and it was noticably louder, not as loud as my bros K&N inductin kit tho..

my dad put 1 in his subaru made no noise dif but then it is loude anyway i would put a air induction kit on it but i dont want the ecu to start playing up or something stupid wears best place to get exhaust from backbox

Fitting a panel filter makes no difference what so ever to the noise of the car. However if you were to drill holes in the bottom of the airbox (ideally linked to cool air feeds) you would get a better sound. Probably wont make any difference to performance though to be fair.
