Its an EGR valve bud.................

if it was an EGR valve it would recirculate exhaust gasses, which it doesnt, so its not. it pumps fresh air into exhuast ports for 10 secs on startup, for emission reasons.

mine is off because i have put a single plug ecu head on. removed the pump and piping for it aswell.

yea fresh air pump

useless and only came on mark 2s with the 3 plug ecu

So you can literallly just rip these and the pump out with no negative effects? Or can you only rip it off with an after-market mani?

as long as you blank off the hole in the side of the head yes

took mine of my 106gti last weekend and has no effects at all. waste of time lol

just blank the hole up this a piece of steel :y: got to be steel as high temperatures mate

one lad was selling a suitable bit on here a while ago, dont know if he still is.... anybody know his name ??

Sorry i apoligise that as a stupid question :geek: clearly cant us a rubber grommet on the block lol! If you can find it mate that will be great, if not how did u do it??

Metal plate,and the bolts which were already there.......:y::y:

what i did is cut the end off it and used that as a template to make a piece to fit
sealered and bolted the plate on
