Right, well this weekend i endeavored to fit my raceland to my 1.1. As promised here is a guide, which isn't too hard if done with care. I encountered a few problems when doing it, so i can share those with you too.
List of things you'll need:
Un-assembled Raceland Enclosed Induction Kit
Selection of Spanners
Selection of Philips and Flathead Screwdrivers
75mm Air Intake Ducting (available from www.hoseworld.com (http://www.hoseworld.com/cgi-bin/sh000001.pl?REFPAGE=http%3a%2f%2fwww.hoseworld.com %2facatalog%2fsilicone_hose_silicone_elbows_silico ne_reducers_radiator_hose.html&WD=75mm%20air&PN=ENGINE_AIR_INTAKE_DUCTING.html%23aLF_2d075_2f1# aLF_2d075_2f1))
3x75-90mm Jubilee clips (one is already on the new cone, one is already on the old air box)
WD-40
Scissors+Cutters
PATIENCE!
Right so first things first, you'll be needing one of these:
http://i6.photobucket.com/albums/y236/sneakydevil101/Raceland.jpg
Yup, its your nice new raceland induction kit.
Then, you'll be needing one of these:
http://i6.photobucket.com/albums/y236/sneakydevil101/DSC00412.jpg
...Its your engine
First thing to do if you want an easy job is WD-40 all the nuts im about to show a few hours before hand, so there nice and loose.
Remove any strut braces and put the nuts from the struts somewhere safe DONT FORGET TO PUT THEM BACK ON!
Also you may need to remove your mani cover i did, but looking at it now it probably would go back on. for more space i suggest you take it off.
To put in the new filter, you're going to need to take out the old one. If you've got the standard air filter on, you need to remove these 2 nuts to free it up.
http://i6.photobucket.com/albums/y236/sneakydevil101/DSC00414.jpg
One at the front
http://i6.photobucket.com/albums/y236/sneakydevil101/DSC00418.jpg
and one half way up the engine bay by your rocker cover.
This one attaches at the bottom as well, you can't see it in my picture as i didnt take it off as even with WD-40, couldnt move it for the life of me!
I would recommend you find a way to remove it, as it just gets in the way later.
Remove the breather pipe that connects to the side of the standard air intake. Needs a bit of a pull, but should come off fairly easily.
With the nuts off, remove any kind of jubilee clip you might have on your standard air intake
http://i6.photobucket.com/albums/y236/sneakydevil101/DSC00415.jpg
Once that is off, simply pull your old air intake off and put it to one side.
Next, undo the jubilee clip that is above the air box.
http://i6.photobucket.com/albums/y236/sneakydevil101/DSC00422.jpg
Do the same for the one above the throttle body, but DO NOT REMOVE IT!
http://i6.photobucket.com/albums/y236/sneakydevil101/DSC00423.jpg
Now that those are undone you need to lift the "bridge" off the throttle body and air box. These can be a bit stiff, but a bit of muscle can get it out.
http://i6.photobucket.com/albums/y236/sneakydevil101/DSC00425.jpg
Now you have to get your old air box out of there, it does fit through the gap but you have to be careful of the "bridge" and the brake fluid tank. Just be patient and it will come out.
http://i6.photobucket.com/albums/y236/sneakydevil101/DSC00428.jpg
This bit is the tricky part, but again i stress that you be patient.
Get your tubing and cut a section about 40cm long.
(You'll need your cuters to cut through the metal ridges)
Try and do this neatly as a scruffy end is harder to work with as i found out
Next you want to put little cuts spaced around the diameter of the tubing, this helps you fit it over the end in a moment.
Get the bridge and put your tubing around it and then jubilee clip it like so:
http://i6.photobucket.com/albums/y236/sneakydevil101/DSC00433.jpg
This really requires patience as you want a good seal and if its not you'll end with problems.
Once you've done that, place it back down where it came from, but do not attach it properly.
Now the fun bits!
Assemble the cone and the piping of your raceland
http://i6.photobucket.com/albums/y236/sneakydevil101/DSC00429.jpg
Take the bottom part of the shell and place it in the engine bay where you want it to go.
(you can secure it to the chasis at this point, but i did at the end in a more temporary way)
place the piping into the shell.
http://i6.photobucket.com/albums/y236/sneakydevil101/DSC00436.jpg
This part is the time consuming part...
...you need to pull the rubber tubing over the racelands pipe and secure it with a jubilee clip as in the above picture.
you have to make sure that there is enough tubing that the raceland piping sits properly in its shell. if its too short, it wont and it will be really hard to secure, if its too long it wont fit in the right place anyway.
Im afraid its simply a case of trial an error. Thats why it has to be longer than you need to begin with. Keep cutting small bits off until it fits nice and snugly and looks neat.
You'll get a join looking something like this
http://i6.photobucket.com/albums/y236/sneakydevil101/DSC00435.jpg
Another reason why you want to keep your ends neat is it make the whole thing look neater! mine arent!
Make sure that jubilee clip is properly over the raceland pipe and its tightly secured. if its not, it will be drawing in unfiltered air, which you dont want.
I then put the lid on and made sure it was sitting where i wanted it too.
I found that at one end it sat nicely and wouldnt move, but on the left hand side there was a bit of play. So what i did was cable tied it around that bottom screw onto a convenient hole right next to it. But you can secure it in anyway you think is best.
put all the bolts in to hold it together and inline, then screw the nuts on by hand. In the next picture i havnt put them on the top yet, as you'll find it very hard to get to them. I would suggest you take the battery out to free up some space.
Make sure you tighten the nuts you did up by hand securely.
Finally get your breather pipe you took off earlier and put in the connection coming off the side of the raceland pipe. Make sure its nice and secure in there.
Put any braces back on and stand back to admire your handy work.
MAKE SURE THE FRONT STRUT NUTS ARE DONE UP TIGHTLY!
Here is the finished artical

Dont think iv forgotten anything, but if you have a question, just ask! ill try and answer it if i can.
Feedback appreciated :y:
