QEP (www.q-e-p.com) will lighten your flywheel. Or if you want to buy one already lightened, visit Tweaks. (www.demon-tweaks.co.uk)

Looks like Tweeks do another type which is all one piece. I wonder which one to go for? Hmmm... :detective:

i got mine from AP racing with my clutch, i know most mr.clutch outlets skim flywheels. im sure the one over my way did them for £25.
but to be honest, i never really noticed any difference is having min fitted, although i did many things in one go lol

i can skim aswell but was just wondering what would an ideal amount to take off so that you would notice it but without taking too much off?

£375 FUCK paying that, take it to a decent engineering place so they can lighten and balance it and i bet you it will be less then half that and near enough the same weight as that demon tweeks flywheel

Not true. The aluminium ones are a lot lighter than you can make the stock iron one. The stock iron ones are very week as well so you can not even take that much off at all if your planning on tuning the engine a lot.

Any one know the difference between the 2 brands Tweaks sell? One seems to be a sinlge piece, whereas the other (shown above) seems to be made of of several.

yet the aluminum flywheel is alot safer being light than a standard one being machined down. If they get a bit excited and do it incorrectly it can make a nice mess of anything in sight.

standard fly wheels are not that heavy really anyway

Ahh, didnt know the standard ones were iron

Ya, there made out of toffee really. Though when they pop they tend to rip through the gearbox, bodywork and any people who are unlucky enough to get in the way like there butter. Its something akin to a claymoor going off but were talking much bigger lumps of metal.
