View Full Version : Need tip on re-fitting bottom arm

just fitted some new springs to my car pasanger side was all ok i used a bar to prise down the bottom arm the relocate the balljoint into the bottom of the strut, but im having trouble with the drivers side, seems asif the bar cant prise the bottom arm down enough (ive got no longer bars). any tips on re-fitting it? kind of urgent too

depending how long the bar is, sit yourself next to the front bumper and put the bar over the bottom arm and underneath the drivers footwell area of the car. If its long enough you should hopefully be able to get enough pressure on the bar to lower the arm.
Thats how i do it with a shortish bar. The key to this is, unfortunately, leverage so longer the bar the better :sad:

i allways get underneather the arm and pull it down that way

put a jack on the hub/disc and push it up a bit.

where the leg has the track rod end put it under the part on the leg and up on where the steering rod goes through and push the leg up that way
think that was how i done it lol

thanks alot got it sorted now i used the way above, i tried jacking under the brake disc but the strut kept pushing outwards and was finiding it hard moving it into the right postition with it being under tension.
