Universal exhausts.
Why did i buy one.
well i have and anyway i took it down to my local mechanic and he laughed at me saying it would be impossible for him to fit it.
also looked like a right pleb, and wasted his time.
so annoyed
i emailed the guy and he said, i need to get some additional pipework for it at a specialist exhaust fitter.
1. specialist fitter?? where and who in east scotland, or anywhere as a general intrest.
2. anyone else been stupid enough to buy one
3. its urgent as i neeeeeeeed to get it on

pop some pics up, unless its a weird shape one (to long ect) you can normally just cut the middle section and join it

if its universal then its not going to be the best exhaust, is it just a backbox or cat-back? flog it and get something better.

would never go for a universal tbh mate, best bet is to try kam racing for a supersprint backbox, if youd prefer something bigger maybe a magnex?

i see so many cars with these universal backboxes round by mine, they sound dreadful dont sit right and some of them move up and down quite a lot, there the worst things ever.

if you cant fit it your self they work out more expensive than a direct fit

by specialist fitter he will mean the likes of powerflow etc. they make up exhaust to fit your car. they will be able to make it fit if its just a back box.
if its just a back box, you can make them fit by using flexible exhaust piping, you can get it cheap from most car accesory shops in lenghts, and you just bend it and clamp it in place. its not the best way of doing it and they can move around a wee bit, but only if you are bending the flexi over silly angles etc.
if it was just a case of a back box to the standard pipework, you will get away with it using flexi pipe work.
other problem can by the mounting bracket. as most back boxes made for the saxo come with 3 mounting points, you may not get that many on a universal one, hence why they dont always sit too well
hope thats helps a bit mate
