right i am receiving my s1 rallye inlet and head in a couple of weeks, but my mot is due in april may time, but i wanted to fit this before then, could this affect the emissions on mot? also i was looking into using the s1 ecu too as i have an adaptor so it will be plug and play, would this cause any issues at mot too?
cheers

no mate as long as the wiring is done right and you have a cat on. The rest will be fine as long as everything else is ok

Just use the complete top end as I said and get the multiplug rewired already spoke to lex about it so he knows the score. Will run fine since you will be running the better fpr aswell already.
Nothing to worry about

yer i am going to, well lex wont be able to help me since he blew his bottom end lol cause hes doing that now, but my dad knows what to do so hes going to help me afterall he did rebuild a chevy 350 engine himself lol but im just going to get lex to explain to my dad about wiring, but im sure between us we can figure it out lol
fpr? what you mean about that lol im bit thick when it comes to short words haha

lex is still helping you out its just his turbo bottom end thats gone his daily drive is fine. fuel pressure regulator

might find its a bit more generous on the fuel side of things!

Will an ecu for an s1 rallye which is a 1300 or 1400 not sure exactly run a 1600 correctly? Not sure just thought id ask!

ahhhhhhh thats awsome i thought it would get through more fuel lol
but as afar as im aware s1 chris yes it should run, your best to ask sophia_bush on this one lol thats who i got all my advice from and he said ti would run fine, but theres only one way to find out lol and thats to try it lol
bt the s1 rallye is 1.3 not 1.4 thats the 106 xsi thats 1.4

awsome, doesnt the s1 ecu also have a higher rev limiter? so that will mean my car will rev to i think its 6.5k or 7k?

Im not saying anybody is wrong and am just wondering, how can an ecu that is designed to put enough fuel into 1300cc worth of air manage to fuel 1600cc worth of air in the cylinders. Surley then the 1600cc would be running lean? Or does it adjust the fueling etc depending on how much air is being drawn in?

S1 ECU run the whole setup fine as long as the right injectors and fuel pressure regulator are ran. As said mates S1 passed mot fine with VTR engine and made good power just had to change fpr to sort a few flat spots and he was off.
VTR 6250rpm limit S1 rallye supposedly 7250rpm limit but some people seem to say hard cut is 7400rpm

Nice one mate i understand now, is it a worth while swap for a bit of an easy power increase then?

cheers gav it is gav isnt it? lol (theres my stupid question of the day) lol
but yer i was going to ask you about that do i run the s1 injectors then? cause i was unsure, although its probably a bit obvious to use them, but you never know, but youve just answered it without me askin lol
ahh wiked thats good then, i think thats about all i need to know lol erm my dads agreed tp help me out now, i can sort of do majority of it, well going to have a go at doing it, but my dad is helping with wiring cause i havnt a clue about that, and maybe a couple of other bits he would help me on, but i want to do as much as i can so i can learn lol
so its a good weekends work then really?
Nice one mate i understand now, is it a worth while swap for a bit of an easy power increase then?
cheers chris
erm well i am not exactly sure on power increases, well how much you would gain, but i know from what people have said on here that you get really good results with just the inlet as it is bigger than a vtr inlet also the rallye inlet is steel unlike the vtr's plastic one lol, but ive not really heard much of what the results are from running what i will be, so when i get it done i will more than likely make a thread on here about it.
but it also depends how much you find things for as i got a good deal from here, but if you was to buy what im you need to do what i am doing, you would need to source a whole engine and scrap the bottom end or sell it, or buy it all singally, which is alot, a small list for you mate....
inlet - 100
head - 80-90
ecu - 50
coilpack+leads - 30 (not 100% sure, but new ones from a shop would be around 50-60)
erm and all other bits like fpr and injectors and fuel rail could add up to around 60 maybe not 100%
so it adds up to alot really, i think you would be best with just inlet if thats all your doing to your car, i am only doing this as i will be camming it in 3 or 4 months i think when i get more money, but it all depends on if your willing to spend the money or wether your going to look into a wild cam, erm but i would def advice you to look into a s1 inlet its quite a popular mod for the vtr, you will notice a lot more response iirc
hope this helps though mate

Brilliant mate thanks for the info, i think i will look into the inlet for now as its got to be worth a try.

yer the inlet is def worth it, by the way the price i put is included post lol, they sell for between 80 and 100 and thats including all the sensors and the tb, although ill just let you know you may need to do some wiring changes with it, you need to adapt the tps sensor and also you need to drill a hole in the inlet to plug a sensor in now im not 100% sure on which sensor it is i cant remember lol i think it is the map sensor though, also if it does not come with this you need to get the 106 throttle cable as the vtr one is too short lol but theres a guide in this section, its in a sticky at top of this section have a read of that erm i think thats it, oh and they if you cant find one on her try 106 owners or 106rallyeforum
its a good mod to do but a bit fiddly lol
ooooo one more thing you need to have the mk1 90bhp engine as the head spacings are different for the inlet between the 98bhp mk2 model and mk1 or so ive heard on here lol, just thought id let you know
but hope this helps mate
and good luck on your search

yeah its me lol I would say allow a long weekend to get everything done mate. S1 injectors and VTR you will be fine.
yes its a cheap easy mod to get more power just get a complete S1 engine loom ecu etc chuck the bottom end away put on vtr bottom end rewire use bigger fpr job done :D
