Ive got a mocal oil catch tank and the outlet is vented to atmosphere as you see in the picture below, Ive got a bung on the induction pipe so no shit will get in. is this the best way or is it best to connect the catch tank outlet to the induction kit and if so for what reason.

not really any point connecting it back to the air filter, you have an oil catch tank to remove the oil residue from going back into the intake, yes it will be minimal after the catch tank but still would defeat the object of having the catch tank. either leave it as is or get a breather filter to go on the pipe that is going out to the atmosphere

Where does the second pipe go? The one on the oil tank going down by the gearbox? Is this just what your using to vent the catch tank? I thought that the cap on a mocal tank had a vent in it?

yeah the mocal dose have a vent in the cap but don't think it is very good from reading a lot of other treads so just venting it to atmosphere but read in other treads that its best to have it connected to the induction kit so it creates a vacuum in the crank case so don't know whats best to do.

whatever the thickness make sure its allowing the engine breath properly and not creating any back pressure!
The hoses look big enough but im not sure how big the inlet and outlets are? I had the same issue - hose was big enough but inlet and outlet werent big enough - meaning the engine couldnt properly breath.
Old vs New inlet / outlets

And my set up, with a nice drainage pipe - not that i've had to use it yet!

Ive got the original out let on the rocker cover and the ones that come on the catch tank how can you tell if its creating any back pressure
