View Full Version : Powerflow yes or no?????

I was just wondering.... Ok i know magnex and a couple of others are probably the best for performance exhausts, but i was looking for something slightly different plus the power gain! How to people rate powerflow these days? Am not looking for a super loud bean can, just a nice sounding exhaust that wont actually hinder my car! Are powerflows full stainless systems worth the money or do people recommend something else?

Many thanks,

Peebee

personally id never let pooflow fit anything to my car.

some of the welding and 'mandrel bends' or lack of them ive seen is shocking

What are you running then Ryan?

A system designed by an engineering company, which would cost £1300.

personally I think the magnex is the better of the all round systems for the saxo in terms of noise, performance and looks.

BTB's ive had and really rated it on my car but of course some members call you a sheep for liking them.

It does seem that everyone has the good old Magnex system, but hey, for that reason alone, i guess thats proof in a way thats its a good system! I was hoping for a wee bit more noise than what a Magnex can offer, but performance is my main preference!

Another good one is the supersprint race system. Not just saying that because i have one fitted :P

Once you get it warm and start chippin up into the higher revs you really here it kick into a nice sound.

Good gains for good money tbh.

if you want performance stick with a twin box system, dont go straight through. saying that the supersprint race system is pretty decent for sounds not sure on performance but alot of ppl rate them highly. ive had both janspeed and magnex, magnex build quality was very good. same as janspeed very good. out of the two though id choose janspeed, i found it to be a bit louder than my magnex, both very nice sounding exhausts though. ive also had a supersprint race centre which was very loud a bit too loud for my liking but i noticed a difference in the performance not much but noticeable i put it down to lack of compression.

Have to agree with Ryan. Not just powerflow I think a lot of these custom exhaust places
lack proper skills.

A purposeful of the shelf exhaust designed your car is so much better. Magnex is an excellent
all round choice and you dont get that artificial exhaust noise from them.

Pugsports are very well designed too. Heard issues about some with bad build quality but
performance wise they do the job very well!
Shame you saxp boys have to bodgy em to fit em :p

Cheers lads, got a few systems to look up now. How about Miltek, ive heard they're a well constructed exhaust. Do they do a system for a 2001 VTR?, ive struggled to find one!

Never owned a Miltek on a saxo but used to have the lot (manifold to tailpipe) on my old fiesta and it was a quality system and gave a massive improvement to performance.

The sportex system is good if you are on a budget.

Just please stay well clear of Powerflow

supersprint/piper all the way lol

i had a full supersprint on mine and its an amasing exaust lots of rasp, but i decided to change to piper 3 inch backbox and the sound is quality its still kept the rasp but itsd a bit louder

i think its louder than a magnex when you put your foot down but cruising around its not that loud, you can hear it but its quite subtle from what i can tell inside the car, depends what your after though dude, its about 200 for either full supersprint or if you buy the supersprint centre and pipe backbox from kam

and like joshb said the sportex are good, i think they are like the supersprint race system from kam from what i can tell, correct me if im wrong on this lol

but yes stay well clear from powerflow, my mate has a vtr too and he paid 300quid for a custom system from them it was a manifold back system, and considering he had a 421 mani too the sound qas quite poor also he couldnt quite keep up with me and i have a 421 mani too with the supersprint full system on at the time which was about 100 less for the zorst and some one watching said you could here mine slightly more than his too, so they seem a bit of a rip off too

i dont rate powerflow at all, the above comments basically state what you get, but as for the sportex bein good for low buget, im running a c/s atm as i hairl ine cracked my supersprint on a speed bump and am reapairin it and tbf i think the sportex has gien me a slighthly better gain and im starting to like the sound of it, might just be my set up but i think it beeting my supersprint!

how bout a Piper? I had a piper 4" slash cut that i ordered from kam with a supersprint centre section. Sounds lovely! Nice deep note thats not rediculously loud.

thats what i have on as a backbox, sounds amazing although i think mines a 4.5 or 5" as my mate got the same ubut mine appears bigger, never measured like lol but thumbs up for that set up

I rate powerflow tbh.

i use a stainless cat-back from them, and the welds are really good plus decent quality. It sounds subtle when driving normally, and nice and sporty when you put your foot down. pops and bangs through the gears, and noticed a little performance increase.

i guess with powerflow it really depends on the quality of your local shop! No quality control there then lol Thanks for the advice everyone!:y:
