Yes, a backbox wont give you any gain.
So for example if you bought the supersprint race backbox and just bolted it on, you wouldnt see a gain.
But, if you put it together with a race/normal supersprint centre section then you would see a gain. Obviously if your catalyst is in the manifold then you wont de-cat the car, i use the race system with my cat in the manifold and noticed a good gain, pulls right up top now and cant fault the build and design.
Neither of these are stainless steel they are mild steel but thats not really important.

Well it depends how often you look under your car and think "wow its soooo shiny"
Is there a website for this freeflow place? Where are they? How much is the system costing you in total?

Ok cool, so they are going make from scratch a full system for £230? You sure?
I doubt you will see any further gain from the systems you can already buy from internet sites like kamracing.
You'd need to get a BTB with manifold to see a further gain, they are very rare now.

Backbox only may free up 1-2 bhp.
Full system maybe 3-4bhp.
Stainless steel will mean that the exhaust will last longer and won't be prone to rusting like the mild steel systems. Depends how long you plan on keeping the car as to whether you think its worth the extra ££ for a stainless system.
As DanT said, you could use a supersprint centre section or similar to mate up with the backbox if you wanted to.
For further gains, you do not need a btb. As several recent threads have discussed, it is doubtful whether any gains can be got using a btb system over any other after market system on an engine with minimal mods, due to the increased bore of the btb, which is best suited to boosted or high output n/a engines that flow a significantly increased amount of gas out of the engine.
Any 4 branch manifold would give you a slight increase with the full exhaust. Lots of people seem to rate the raceland, which costs far less than the gmc/btb manifold.
and I don't know who says a btb costs over £1000. New I think they were around £500-£600, but they are no longer made. Second hand they are still fetching £300-400, but as said, are very rare. Maybe the clio sport btb system was around the £1k mark, I don't know

Yeh i think the BTB is about that price too.
To be honest, its going to vary for every car, condition, mileage, age, 90bhp or 98bhp and the way you drive it.
Often just a really good service is what you need, i think people dont rate keeping a saxo fully serviced enough. Mine gets oil + filter changed every 6k and my green filter re-cleaned and oiled, some people do it more often that that. Everything else every 12k, gbox oil, plugs etc.

freeflow same as powerflow? if so will be shite and prob be more restrictive than a standard system, have heard the welds can be really poor as they make them on the car. just buy a supersprint from kam will be cheaper and much better quality and will see some gains,

i was always under the impression that a backbox alone gave no increase?
