i am just about to buy a vtr engine to put in my x reg(2000) furio. i have seen a 52 plate engine and im just wondering if it will fit as it is a different year because apparently from 52 the engines are different. cheers

mine was VTR mk1 engine in a furio mk2 saxo

is that the same as yours

some wiring needs changing tho so make sure you get the wiring loom :y:

No it will go in fine mate, the mounts are the same for all the saxo's you might need to look at driveshaft fitment though. It may have changed but not too sure unless you plannin on still using your gbox from the furio?

The engine itself will go in.

yea its a mk furio but its only a mk2 by reg, the engine is a late 99 according to my mechanic because he had to put a mk1 clutch kit in it. il just buy the 52 engine and use everything from it, if the drive shafts dont fit il use my furio box. cheers peeps

i think you may have issus with the wiring
the 2000 may still be single plug ecu and a 52 plate will e triple plug

therefor the loom plugs will be different

Yeh i think Alex is write, the looms will be different. You will need the ecu off the 52plate and the loom mate.

Not sure if your box will work as well as normal vtr box either mate.

i meant the plug betwen the engine and car looms
so the vtr motor loom may not fit your car
you could put the furio loom on and get a new ecu but its a pain
