Thinking of buying the above exhaust from Kam Racing but was just wondering what the difference was between the one with the middle silencer and the one without the silencer mine has the cat under the manifold and the original has a middle box just a bit confused which would be better ??

i would recomend the full race system if your not planning on decatin it as it is a nice sound not too loud but raspy when you put your foot down if you de cat it i would go for the silenced version as it can get quite loud and annoying on long journeys

basically the one with no centre silencer with be alot louder, more raspy. my mates got a 106 gti with a full s/s, not sure on make, with no centre silcener, it sounds nice but i couldnt live with it everyday, thats why im buying a supersprint centre section with mid silcencer with my magnex back box, and if your saxo's got the cat under the car instead of in the manifold, it decats it. and will still sound nice without being OTT. each to there own tho, if u want it to be as loud as can be, get a straight threw.

yes i agree with joey_ivy and dunny123 to an extent, the full race system with no centre silencer will be louder, and would be slightly more raspier than the the pipe with the box, but i dont think it is that loud
i have the full race system with no middle silencer along with a 421 manifold and the sound is amazing but i wouldnt say it was annoying as i used to travel for a good half hour at a time to my gfs house and even with interior stripped out i still didnt think it was too loud or annoying, because when your cruising the supersprint isnt that loud its only when you put your foot down all hell breaks out lol and now i have a piper 3 inch with that centre pipe and it still isnt too loud when cruising just alot louder when you put your foot down
i think its alot of personal reference though, the one without silencer will be louder though not by too much though, and also i think if i remember rightly i was told the middle box can create better backpressure and can give you slightly better torque gains as it creates like a vortex effect or something, correct me if im wrong on that someone, im sure thats what they said as they was describing the diff between the pugsport and supersprint to me at the time
hope this helps mate

But there you have all forgotten one fact, there is much important and what kind of back box you have. If you buy a new back box is ok, but if you have a old which is burnt from inside the sound will be much more louder

the only difference really if the volume of noise. The full race one is as straight through as you can get and still pass some noise restrictions. The one with the mid silencer knocks it down a few dbs. Better perhaps for road cars..

Get the full race system without the silencer..it sounds the nuts when connected to the supersprint 421 ;)

That is a very good way of putting it. I have one of these too and to be honest just like tom says it really is only as loud as you make it. Tbh when your giving it some you want a bit of noise yet when ur just cruisin its a good sound too. They really arent as loud as some people make out they are. UNLESS ofcourse you decide to decat in which case you will need ear protectors lol.

even de-cat'd a light foot will save your ears. is you get sick of it just keep your interior in to deaden the sound abit

Yeh man the supersprint race centre and backbox are a great combo! I have a green cotton panel filter too but cant imagine that makes all that much different to the noise.

i forgot to say my first car was a vtr and i put a brand new scorpian exhaust system on it along with brand new raceland 4-2-1, got it all fitted, sounded nice but not loud atol, then was going threw some lanes one night, and a massive stone was in the middle of the road, braked but was goin to fast and it cut my middle silencer open, so got my mate to cut it out and weld a new bit of s/s, did a good job on it, then i turned it on and revved it and it sounded alot louder, raspier, and alot nicer in my opinion, but now i've got my vts cause there alot louder than the vtr with no centre silencer and decat, just getting a supersprint centre section with centre silencer like i said before. although im still tempted to get the straight threw, but will probably regret it as i use my car daily and do long journeys from time to time.
but as yours is a vtr i'd def get a straight threw.
