Folks, i have a mk2 vts in standars engine form and was wondering how many horses i could get out of the engine with a few basic mods. i know im currently pushing out about 120 horses but looking at anywhere between 130 up to even maybe 160. These are the sort of mods i was looking at :
(NOTE: I havent got any of these parts yet but was looking for advice and/or recomendations for certain porducts)

Full BMC Carbon Air induction kit
Full Stainless Steel Exhaust System including SS 4-2-1 manifold
new kent cams
ECU re-map
P&P head

are there any other mods that are fairly cheap??? (e.g. things like tubo/supercharging and throttle body upgrades are way to expensive and will be doing them later)

Thanks

BMC
Supersprint 4-2-1
Newman PH3 Cams
P&P Head
REMAP
would see you a good gain up around 150-160 possibly

do you know that for a fact you have 120bhp? you'd be suprised how much you will have lost from new.

Have a look at catcams 708's or newman ph3's
Could have a look at also getting the current throttle body p&p theres a guy on here that does it for £25 IIRC
Also a good remap should see you reaching something like 150 atw something like that

to get the desired power could simply fit some catcam 708s or for a cheaper and exqually good alternative fit newmans ph3s

Leave the head alone and a decent performance exhaust and induction kit and a good manifold. Should be pushing on 160bhp with that lot

Exhaust/manifold and induction usually sees 135-140bhp on the rollers, set of cams, you're looking at about 150, and a remap and you're looking 155-160.
