Right then people anyone seen one done usin a 16valve (gti6) engine into a saxo or a 106?
Has anyone done one? And does anyone know of anywhere i can get the exhaust manifold from to fit?
All help appreciated.

Pug performance (cit performance) have done it, costs about £4500 and you get 167bhp at the fly, this doesnt include better brakes, suspension etc which would also be required.
Better of spending that on a turbo/supercharger and getting 200 at the wheels and having a much faster car.

i already have the engine here and want to do it myself. I am in the process of putting a v6 into the xsara it came out of so thought of putting the 2 litre to good use. Thanks for the info
anyone got any pics of one done?

you will probably have to fit the saxo gear box too, as a 6 spd box will reduce you full lock on one side.

yup, 6 speed GTI 6 box with pugsport france MA to BE3 bellhousing. it doesnt stick out enough to catch on the wheels to stop full lock, evidently its not mine its buckys but if i like it enough i might end up buying it smileys/smiley4.gif

is the linkage sorted ratty? last i heard bucky wasnt selling that as he wasnt 100% with it?

its not the tidiest of jobs but it works quite well I have to say, wouldnt be hard to make some rose jointed ones or even custom ones with rose jointed ends, but hes just cut and extended the std saxo ones, the only problem is the reverse gear as it has to almost go around a corner to get to the reverse linkage smileys/smiley4.gif
not sure if this problem would exist if it was a 5 speed box but i think it would.

doesnt stop you getting in any gear its just if your REALLY picky which i was being there then you would mention that, but it doesnt bother me in the slightest, if its not broke dont fix it.

well buck did all the work ie made driveshafts, mounts, linkages, got the bellhousing from outside uk so was cheaper, but on average for lots its about 2.5-3k

oh yea my mistake, i mean to say fit a 205 box, but it dosnt seam to matter anyway coz you can bodge it. haha
Ratty
21st October 2005, 20:37
205 box is same as BE3 on 1.9, 1.6 etc unless its an MA version, six speed is slightly longer for the extra gear but thats it, you cannot "bodge" a BE gearbox to a TU engine you need the bellhousing and custom shafts and mounts and linkages and you certanly cannot bodge it the other way

nope totally different box mate so cant fit, plus different gear selection and linkage locations, on MA boxs 1-4 is 1 gear (or machined as 1 if you know what I mean) and 5 is seperate, on GTI6 its the same but 5 and 6 are together i think.
its a class idea having a 6th gear just to be a nob which i intend to be smileys/smiley4.gif

wots the longest 5th i can fit to it! would it be VTR 5th! i have the VTR box still, thought of putting 4th & 5th in the rally box to save petty & have some top end! LOL... it redlines at 105mph in 5th at the mo... but gets there quick! LOL smileys/smiley4.gif
