I actually went in a car with one on..and honestly....I aint massively impressed to be honest. Power is smooth...which I not a fan of, I like a kick.

Spec of the car is pretty much the same as mine.

Is there any owners that have gone from a Raceland to a GMC out there...

Interested to here your thoughts!

get a 4-1 manifold it will deliver a high end "kick" where a 4-2-1 will delivere the power trough the rev range:y:

I do know this :}

Probs right I have had 2 before

you have a naturally aspirated engine - it will really never give you a kick unless you go for a lairy cam. The 4-2-1 gives you a good spread of power which is what makes you able to pedal along fast. You will not see any top end gain from a 4-1 unless you have a race engine, but you may get lower torque in the mid range.....
If you want a kick then cam it or turbo it :D

I understand what you saying...But you can still get a little kick without the cams.

All I am saying is fare enough the 4-2-1 spread the power out..Where with the GMC its a little delayed then you get it all at once, you get me?

woooop wooop ;) and polish the manifold aswel ;)

I think the 4-1 is just too peaky on the standard engine (and limiter tbh)

leaves the torqueyshizzle too high to be much use to most tbh.

did some rough calcs a couple of weeks ago... lost the calcs but 4-2-1 seems better suited in terms of overall torque gains (larger area under torque/rpm graph is slightly bigger)

What do you think to the polished standard manifold and competition down pipe

Are there any ground clearence issues with the gmc manifold?? People say you tend to get some with the piper 4-1 but not the supersprint 4-2-1

Steve

piper 4-1 is the gmc manifold well mine and a few others were. only the btb which is different.

leeroy - yeah its a new down pipe, not standard bored out.

tbh, the differences are gonna be extremely minimal.

ive got a raceland, it does the job and is proven to over 200bhp.

who wants a kick in a n/a anyway, that means something's wrong lol

i had just the full exhast with de-cat and induction kit. i got a 4-2-1 Raceland mani, i felt the power difference at mid revs, im happy with it, stil would have rather had a piper 4-1 mani but extra cost :y:

Iv got the GMC BTB manifold with the BTB exhaust and there is more a kick at 4000 revs than before when mine was standard.

Leeroy give it a go, you'll always be able to sell on if you dont think its great, but id prefer to have the power at top end so its more user friendly on hard suspension in the wet
