Ive got everything in now, but i went to start it earlier and nothing. The dash lights and everything are on but there is nothing else. I did notice that the negetive wire that goes from the battery to the starter motor is screwed into the gear box. I did try and take it out but it wont come out, the nut just unscrews. Would this be the reason why or is there anything else i can try?

Did it even turn over?

Check the back of the alternator - make sure there are 2 ring terminals on the big thread and then a little ring terminal on the smaller thread.

My other thought runs back to those two wires cut on the ignition relay - so if it turns over but doesnt start then could be this ?

The ones that go in to the wing?

Not even turning over. No clicks or anything, do you think it might be the starter earth? The long bolt one. Also there is an earth on the loom that hangs near the starter.

could be, the battery should be earthed. Have you checked the connections on back of the alternator? What wires do you have that aren't connected?

What earth is hanging by the starter? Is it a small ring?

You don't even need the alternator on the car for it to start, makes no difference it would just cut out after running for a while. If the starter motor isn't doing anything try checking the wiring to it, most starter motors will have a big positive, a big earth and a small exciter wire (becomes live when you turn the engine over).

would still turn over if ecu was locked.
my bet is you've missed a wire out.
