Single plug ECUs?

I'm planing to change my 1,4 engine to 1,6 8v. I have silver top engine and single plug ECU (MM 1ap). I think i can't run 1,6 engine with 1,4 ECU so what Ecus can i put in to my car without changin any looms or wiring? Are the Motronic MP5.1/2 or MP7.2 Single plug ECUs also? and will they fitt to my car? Thanx for replays.

if you have a single plug 1.4 ecu and get a single plug 1.6 ecu (unlocked) you should be fine mate. Not sure on the on the difference of the cams, as this would be the only stumbling block for the 1.4 ecu working, the 1.4 ecu would start the car and it would run, how well is another thing, if the cams are simular (no idea on that one) then it might work fine.

Why dont you use the one that was with the new engine?

I don't have the engine yet. i'll buy the engine when i'm sure that it will fit and run. Remapping my 1,4 ECU to run 1,6 engine is one option too. Any ideas?

maybe i'll get the ecu also. i dont want to change wires of my car. So i need to find 1.6 engine witch has single plug ecu like my car do.
