been looking into them

found a few things

-handling is poor as weight of engine
-sump to low and can cause problems
-would be better to put a 206 gti engine in, as cheaper(carnt see it being cheaper imo) and lighter

and then custom welding to fabricate to fit engine bay.

carnt seem to find alot of done in a 106 or saxo
i hear they also handle better in 205s

what sort of 0-60 are we looking at in a 106/saxo std gti 6 engine.

would like some general info on this and any vids

its a pain in the arse to do but its not impossible.

i think jpsaxo etc saw one at the ring a few years ago and said it went like shit off a shovel.

Alot of people take the PAS out when fitting this as its a bigger engine (takes up more space) than a normal Saxo lump.
Although im told its not necessary to remove it.

I would imagine it to go very quick, but, its 167 stock, and its hard to squeeze much more power from them without big cash...

Uprated camshafts, breathing mods etc arent too costly...

I have rarely seen a GTI6 break the 170-175 barrier easily. Unless you supercharge it and see around 300+ and spend a good 5k they arent too moddable. But I would love their 6th gear.

As an idea, the mildest cams Piper do, are predicted a +10bhp increase, i should imagine some lairy cams would see a GTi6 jump from 167bhp to 175+.

would you be able to fit the engine with the 6 gearbox tho, iirc the turning circle in the 306 itself was shite, cant imagine what it would be like in a Saxo

i think you should go with it, it will be different and 170bhp isnt a bad figure in such a light car... but as youve said the handling wont be the best. Have you thought about putting it in the rear?

Now that would be expensive, and pointless to use a GTi6 engine.

...for rear engine conversions, look @ Z-Cars' Hayabusa Saxo's or 2.0 VTEC conversions.

So why not the 206 Gti engine? Find a nice 180bhp one, that would be one quick saxo.
