Hi if a thread like this already exists then i'm sorry just leave a link and ill shut up :P

If not i need to know what performance mods i can do that wont affect MOT.

Eg. Exhaust systems...

Any input as always is welcome...

anything but a decat really. though if you lower too much wheels can rub on full lock which is a fail

Dont lower it so much the wheels catch on full lock (or just put 13" steelies back on for the MOT)
Dont decat.
If you strip it, dont just leave the seatbelts in.

Cant think of much more that there is tbh.

there's no modification that i'd do which will affect mot

throttle bodies, turbo's, s/chargers, can all be done and get a valid mot

as long as you dont decat and all the lights work n theres no holes in the floor pan than ud have to hav a real jerk of a tester to fail it. If you do want to de-cat it tho remember to buy a bolt in one so you can put it back in for the test

donkey crap! my car went through the test last week without a bother and she's got a 16v engine, and the wheels scrub a little bit on full lock.

its nothing to do with the mot to check the v5 tho is it?
however if you had an accident and hadnt changed the v5, then you wouldnt really have a leg to stand on

bet you dont declare it on insurance either then.

at the end of the day, declaring it on the v5 is a 5 min job and will cost you nothing more

dont de-cat get a sports cat, feels more responsive than a standard 400 cell cat and mine has just got through the emissions test easily!

when i last took my car for it's mot it had tyres on that rubbed a little on full lock (were temporarily on whilst others wheels been refurbished) and the tester never even checked for it so i'm suprised to hear that should be a fail!?
