Engines currently acting up suspecting need new head, if thats the case while ive got the new head out could get it cammed

Its a 1.4 8v

Looking at three kits:

Kent Cam PT40 & PT41

Also Pipercam 285R

Would be getting it remapped, and would be able to upgrade injectors if nessisary could get some VTR ones

Breathing mods inc currently:

4-2-1 Manifold - Decat & Decat Back system
GSR induction
Oil Catch tank (No crackcase gas's re-entering burn)

Kent PT40 is off ebay £250 delivered as a kit with timming disc/lube... is the timming disc inc a vernier pully one or?

Cant find PT41

Also the Pipercam 285R on its own is £185 but without lube disc etc

Ultimalty when its remapped, i want it to be smooth still as i wont keep the car forever so need it to be sellable

Go for a PT40 - I've read on 106 Owners the 1.4 works well with it and VTR injectors. That kit on eBay won't come with the vernier pulley, it's another £100 for one of those.

What do they mean by it comes with a timming disc then? Just a non lightended version but new & clean etc?

Could you link me? :y:

The timing disc is carboard so I assume it's to help you set the timing when dialing the cam in. You can reuse the original pulley but a vernier would be best to tweak the timing during mapping.

I assume the timing disc helps you set the timing when dialing the cam in mate.

Would their be much benifit/point in buying a Kent Pully to be fitted when the PT40K cam kit is fitted?

I'm in the same predicament mate - just bought a PT40 and don't know whether to go for a vernier or not. In my case, I'm not planning on remapping it anytime soon, if at all! If you're getting it mapped then definitely go for one.

I might fit one anyway... leaves my options open. I'm looking at this one (http://www.bakerbm.com/106.php?data=vernier8v) - £93 delivered.

Doesnt look too bad that, just looked at your car build and seeing the work you have done so far to your car its a definate yes for ther vernier pully

That new rockercover really does set your engine bay off, did it come laquered so shiney when you bought it?

haha, thanks mate. The car is quick enough for me as it is... just fancy doing something different as you hardly hear of anyone camming 8Vs. :)

Not sure bud, came back from the powdercoaters like that. Feels like a lacquered finish though.

yes as they will be a vernier (adjustable) pulley unlike the fixed standard item so you can get the timing perfect
