there all different mate
different clusters and final drives
the 1.1 boxes have a smaller diff in so wont be much good in a vtr

FYI aswell the sports boxes all use the same gear cluster with differend FD.
All of the other boxes imo are not worth touching

nope XSI/Rallye uses the same sports cluster as the vts/gti cluster. they are the sports clusters.
I dont class the vtr as the sporty model :P

According to my sources, the VTR box has slightly different ratios to the main other group of boxes.

i got stitched when i got my xsi, it had the worst gearbox. used to do an indicated 100mph in third gear. fortunately it didn't last long.
