is there one that goes into the pro's and cons of whats available?
i think im gonna try to pull the most out of my car without spending silly money, although as ive said countless times i cant make my mind up whether to spend or not lol.
but either way what is the best manifold for useable day to day powaaahhh? got my green filter which i'll put in an enclosure, and my straight through sportex, and if i get a manifold i'll be adding a cam and map if its needed wih the cam

I have a Raceland 4-2-1 mani. Its mint, im happy with it. But to tell you the truth i wanted a 4-1 piper. but was more money :( that would be better. But the 4-2-1, i can still feel the differnce, im happy.
I have a strate through exhaust with induction kit
Raceland about £140-170 with postage off ebay

would you have to move the oil filter on a mk2 vtr if you got a 4-1 manifold?...sorry for hijacking

Mine seems ok. Chris from manic motors did say they were abit out and require little adjustments. Go on the Manic motors thread on this site and ask him how to fit them and whats the little adjustments needed to fit them.

I no you do for the 4-2-1's i would think so for the 4-1, i would say a 4-1 would take up more room anyways becasue they dont join till the bottom as for the Raceland 4-2-1 join in the middle

i'd really rather not have to fuck about with the oil filter and would probably pay a little more for a direct fitting one lol, but if the filter needs changing for all aftermarket manifolds then i guess i'll just have to do it!

MK2 filters for any mani wil need to be replaced, and i dnt no how to do it lol someone on here will no... i would ask chris on the manic motors thread and ask him about the filter replacement and the little adjustments needed for the raceland. Its nothing massive mate. do that i recomend him :y:

If its a 1.6 8v then yes, but with you having a mk2 im not sure, things might be a little different. id have that checked over 1st before going ahead and buying :)

raceland can be had around £125 and a janspeed or ashley around £150. is the supersprint worth the extra £100? will it attach to my centrepipe or do i need a supersprint centre pipe too? if it does attach will my centre pipe make the most of the manifold?

You just would be paying for the make, they all do the same thing, 4-2-1 all the same 4-1 all the same, i wouldnt pay the extra, and im not sure about the supersprint

are there any manifolds which will fit a mk2 vtr without moving the oil filter??

23rd February 2009, 21:59
the supersprint mani from kam will fit without moving the filter, this is what i think i am going to be going for as i cant b bothered with the filter change, not sure of any others?

LeeM
23rd February 2009, 22:12
hmmm, i know i said id pay extra to avoid having to move the filter, but the supersprint is more than £100 more than the raceland, thats a lot to pay for being lazy haha

tomgarrett
23rd February 2009, 23:06
i know it seems a lot to not have to move the oil filter, but i dont trust myself to do it, are they definately not any other manifolds that dont require adjustments to the oil flter?

supersprint build quality etc is far superior to the raceland hence why im saving for one ;)

My mate has had problems with the fitment of his supersprint manifold, kept taking it back to the garage to try and sort it but in the end had to be welded. So im not too sure on the supersprint being a superior bit of kit im running piper atm.
