hi
i am very friendly with my garage/mot centre :homme: so i am thinking of getting a decat cos they will just swap the old system over for me for MOT most probably.
i am looking at the supersprint race decat pipe from kam.
i got a 3.5 inch scorpion on at the moment.
is this a good idea???
having read up on the 'decat' subject obviously it should increase perfromance but some people say its bad - something to do with back pressure or somethin, or is this only on small powered n / a engines. (bare in mind mine is over 160 bhp)
also will it be very loud, anyone got one and had any good/ bad experiences???? :y: will it be to loud for a trackday any1??

I swear its been the best mod to my VTS.
Would of thought a 160 bhp saxo would of already had a decat.
The nost is slightly deeper but nothing to worry about.

Sorry no.
I often use spirited B road driving and had no problems with pressure or back firing.
On a magnex system it really is fairly quiet.

hehe.
You think?
Perhaps comparing it to my GTi-6 system was not a true comparison.
Still I dont think its loud, driving on motorways does not become impossible.

mines a mk1 so the cat is in the centre section not mani so this may make it louder, any1 got any mk1 experience. i was close to the noise limit at oulton with a scorpion backbox on at the time with no de cat etc

LAD proven mate :fcuk::panic:.
Yarp just whack a decat on dude, but keep the centre silencer or buy one if you don't currently have one. Shouldn't be a problem with noise restrictions on track then....Ryan's is really loud but goes on track a lot without problems (i think anyway).
