hey just a quick question.. i have a 1.1 and have been told that the 1.4 will be a straight swap except obviosly the block and the ecu.. is this true is the wiring loom and gearbox and driveshafts etc ok to run with the 1.4.. ino they look similar.. thanks

Yea it should be ok! you will have to change the ecu, but some times that will come with a new engine. It would be wise to upgrade the brakes a bit.
but dont spend over the top on the breaks, just up grade the front dics, to vented or something. Vented discs will cost you around £30 i think.
but it should work.

cool cool.. my dad owns a car accessory shop so i aint bothered about expensive parts as i get them cheap.. just was wondering if it was a straight swap.. thanks!!

Youll need some gtr calipers to upgrade, you can't just fit vented discs.
IMO I wouldn't spend the time doing a 1.1 to a 1.4 conversion, as the extra power you gain isn't a huge amount, might be better off saving for a vtr/s. Money might be better spent on handlin? Like a good suspension kit? That could ultimately be transfered over to a vtr/s , just my thoughts. Als, a 1.4 westcoast engine has the same mounting points as a vtr/s, but I'm not 100% it'd fit a 1.4.

ino i have thought of a vtr/s conversion but i just wanted to see if a 1.4 would fit straight in... i am 2 minds still i was just askin lol
