Took my car on its first drive since 16v-ing it. Its so much better :). I had a hick up or two, still leaking a bit of oil and the fuel pipe come off the fuel rail. School by error :p.
Its fun running it with the vtr box. 73 in second gear lol. Every one should have 16 valves in their lives:).......

slower acceleration yes...noticable??? no...plus wen u have to fuck about changing into 3rd to hit 60...were still going in second...which gives a good 0-60 time :)

Luckily for me i live by loads of private and unused roads. So im sure one day ill find out. Does the R box make it better or worse on fuel on a long run?

In theory better, as you'll be at lower revs cruising.

Oh it is the best mate. Its soo much nicer and smoother to drive, it doesnt feel as lumpy and sluggish. Gonna get saving for some cams i think :)

Sweet an added bonus :). Saving money :p.
Ive noticed also my vtr fan and rad work perfectly fine. The car never really seems to go above half on the temp guage. Shame i just bought a vts fan and im getting a nissens rads on sunday lol. I have the old type of fan aswell. Works really well.

I hear S2 Rallye box's are good on Vts'. Might be worth finding out about that. I plan on getting one. But the R box is good fun :)

for it for £100 delivered - not a bad price tbh! Just want to get it on now ! I was looking to get a quicker accelerating box on mine for the TB's - and this was around the same/cheaper than a vts box so went for it.
It should give a nice compromise between acceleration and top speed. Don't want to be hitting the limiter on an S1 box in 5th !

Um as far as i can see, there is little spot after you turn off the car, but it really is tiny. It was all coming from the rocker cover. I took it to slough last night and to south wales today. Can feel or heat anything wrong with. Except the fan belt is squeeking like hell. Obviously easliy sorted. But it seems pretty good. The brakes need replacing (calipers) the standards just dont cut it.
