I'm lookin to fit something bigger under the hood with minimal modifications. How about a 206/7 gti engine? would it take much work squeezing it in?

206 Gti (2.0 16v) will fit but don't think it will fit with 'minimal work'. Plus it is very heavy and will apparently ruin the handling

I thought that might be the case. maybe would be better to work with what I'v got then!

205s are nearly the same size of saxos, i have the mi16 lump in the front of mine and it handles better than any saxo/106 i have driven. Could fit one or a gti6 lump in the front of a saxo, take alot of ££ if your not doing it yourself though

What i meant was that in terms of overall size, a 205 is not much bigger than a saxo and if a 205's handling is not effected by a big lump upfront then why would a saxos?

totally diff cars with diff setups and weight distribution, jus coz it works in 1 car dont mean it will work in a diff car of similar size

it depends on the Mi16 though remeber as to if its the late spec iirc they are diff weights.
the 205 suspension geometyr might be alot different which is why it will be effected differently

No such thing as engine rebuild with minimal mods

Yup, some are alloy iirc and therefore lighter.
Spoken to a mate about this before. He runs a 205 Mi16 as a hillclimber. Says that handles quite well. He's tryed a 205 with gti-6 engine and said it wasn't nearly as good

just to add to the debate, the 205 1.6 gti handles better than the 205 1.9 gti due to the 1.9 being a tad nose heavy.
thats not my opinion, thats the summary of many reviews i've read.
